History

nadicom was founded in February 2002 by PhD biologist Dr. Bernhard Nüsslein in Marburg. Initially, the company, as a spin-off of Max-Planck-Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology, provided services in the fields of genetic identification of microorganisms and applied microbiology, since 2015 the division of Agricultural Microbiology became steadily more important.

In 2002, nadicom won the innovation award for its business concept awarded by the start-up initiative "Science 4Life". After its foundation, the company steadily increased its turnover and number of employees and expanded in September 2005 to its new laboratories and offices in Karlsruhe.
 
Since June 2007 our Irish partner Genetic Detection Ltd. supports us in serving the British and Irish market.
 
In 2008 our laboratory achieved the GMP certification from the Regional Council in Tuebingen, Germany.
 
In 2009 we launched the ITS database for our successful software package tree by nadicom.
 
Our classification database for microorganisms fybase by nadicom was presented in 2010.
 
In 2012 we celebrated our 10th company anniversary.
 
The GMP recertification in Spring 2013 confirms that nadicom is accredited as test laboratory for specific microbiological and molecular analyses and tests relevant to release in accordance with the EU directives for pharmaceuticals.
 
Since 2015 we have developed in agricultural microbiology and specialised in the development and production of yield-enhancing organic fertilizers (rhizo power®).
 
In 2016 our product rhizo power® was registered as soil additive for organic agriculture in Germany and in 2017 with the Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association (IOFGA) in Ireland.
 
In 2017 we also celebrated our 15th company anniversary.
 
As consequence of the strategic reorientation focussing on the agricultural sector (rhizo power®), the GMP department of nadicom GmbH was transfered to BioChem Laboratory for biological and chemical analyses GmbH, Karlsruhe, in March 2018. At the same time, preparations began for the relocation of the company headquarters to a location that offers optimal conditions for the production of the rhizo power® product line.
 
In March 2019, nadicom became the lead partner of the EIP-AGRI project OPG Rhizo-Linse to increase the profitability of lentil cultivation by using bacteria as an inoculant.
 
In January 2021, nadicom celebrated the inauguration of the newly established production and filling facilities at our current location in Uhingen near Göppingen.
 
In February 2022, on the occasion of the 20th company anniversary, we were also able to toast the successful reorientation in the field of agricultural microbiology and the successful expansion of the product range of microbial fertilizers.
